Living in Russia, Irina never felt comfortable having her smile makeover with any of the dentists in her country. So she did some online research and found a dentist in Germany. So she flew there and went ahead with the German dentist's Recommendations. Her smile makeover was quite extensive, involving numerous teeth, and gum corrections to lift her gum line and correct the gum position. Despite the complex work, Irina still had a problem: she did not like the work that was done in Germany and was quite disappointed. She decided to wait, to see if, perhaps, she might grow to like
the results more with the passage of time. But after a few months she realized she would have to begin her research process anew; this time, she found NYC Smile Design, and came to see us from Russia for a consult. When Irina explained her displeasure with her smile and what she had hoped to see, we completely agreed that results were less than ideal for her facial proportions; her teeth actually looked too small and too dark. Our plan involved new gum correction to correct the remaining gumminess. As a matter of fact, her gums were very inflamed around her existing veneers. This may happen if the veneers are not prepared properly and end up irritating the gum tissue--quite an unhealthy situation. We were then able to replace her upper 10 veneers with new veneers--brighter and better proportioned-- to give her, at last, the look she had always desired. For Irina, it was worth the trip!
