When Claudia came to see us she had already begun her smile makeover at another office. She mentioned that the process to improve her smile started about three months back and had left her extremely upset. She presented with her teeth already prepared for veneers with a set of temporary veneers on them. She also mentioned that she was in a lot of pain and the temporaries had to be redone a couple of times. After examining Claudia a few glaring problems were noticed. Temporary veneers should be as close a representation to the final porcelain veneer as possible. When they are made properly they clue the cosmetic dentist in any changes that may be necessary for the final porcelain veneers. These temporary veneers did not look right and no useful information could be gathered from them. The other issue that was not addressed was the uneven gum line. Problems with non-symmetric gum line that may not have been as noticeable will be pronounced once beautiful veneers are placed on the teeth. For Claudia our first treatment consisted of correcting her gum line to gain symmetry and balance in her smile. Once we were satisfied with the position we finalized the preparations for 10 upper veneers.
