Prostate problems affects about 8% of the population.  Infections of the mouth, specifically gum disease has been linked to numerous health conditions such as diabetes and heart disease.  Latest research from case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine compared two markers:

  1. PSA or prostate specific antigen
  2. CAL or clinical attachment level (which is an indicator for gum disease)

This finding supports the belief that there is a deep connection between oral health and whole body health.  Low grade chronic inflammation is an insidious problem and gum  disease is extremely dangerous. Gum health problems  such as bleeding gums, swollen gums or receding gums that indicate gum disease – can also indicate the presence of other inflammatory issues.
