We have discovered something new: sometimes the second time is a charm, so there’s no need to wait for the third! The second time, In Nicole’s case, was seven years after she had seen us for her original consult, hoping to improve her smile. But, for whatever reason, she waited all those years to make her move for a makeover. She had been advancing in her career and was interested in seeing how she could improve her appearance. Her smile, she thought, was a major obstacle to reaching her goals in personal and professional situations. Nicole had gaps between her front teeth (which were a direct result of missing one tooth – the lateral incisor, right next to her front incisor. The lateral incisor on the other side was extremely small, the size of a baby tooth. The combination of one missing tooth and one tiny tooth, her other front teeth began to drift out of position. And that had become a real problem: Once teeth move into spaces they were never meant to occupy, the options for correcting them become limited; braces are problematical because the tooth had drifted completely in another tooth’s space. The best option for Nicole is to place porcelain veneers and to recontour the gums, creating better positions for where the veneers meet the gumline. By combining new crowns with veneers and recontouring her gums, Nicole finally had the smile she had waited seven years to see, and felt confident that her personal and professional life would benefit from her second chance.
