although her teeth had been prepared for the veneers, there were no temporary veneers placed while the finals were being fabricated. The waiting period was painful (her prepped teeth were super-sensitive), and her smile was unsightly. Even worse: her cosmetic makeover had not been planned properly, nor were her teeth adequately treated to accept the veneers. After a consultation, we agreed on a plan of action together: we would increase the number of teeth to be veneered and crowned (there were 20 in all), and refine their shape and color to blend perfectly with the earlier porcelain work on Nancy's back teeth. Nancy really appreciated being involved in the decision- making process, and was pleased with how the changes harmonized with her facial features and gave her the contemporary look she had wanted.
