Marie was very self-conscious about her smile. She felt it was holding her back. Two of Marie's front teeth were severely discolored and numerous attempts were made in the past to cover the discoloration with bonding. However, the bondings kept discoloring too. Additionally her left lateral tooth was in a "buck" position and had a large decay in it. Otherwise Marie was comfortable with her smile and did not want to alter it too much. She wanted to keep her unique look-not perfectly aligned, but wanted it better and prettier. First we bleached her natural teeth to remove years of built up internal staining. Now we were able to work on the three discolored teeth by placing two crowns and 1 porcelain veneer to bring back the beautiful natural smile she remembered. Whenever we do an odd number of porcelain crowns or veneers or less than six, this creates a challenge because we have to respect the shape and color of the surrounding teeth in order to create a natural look that blends well with the rest of her smile.
