Karen came to see us for cosmetic consultation. She was unhappy with the 2 bridges recently made a few months ago. Karen needed 2 bridges since she had lost 2 teeth many years back. Karen wanted to be evaluated to see how we could improve her smile. Our smile analysis revealed several problems with Karen's bridges; 1) they were too opaque in color 2) they were too small for her facial features 3) the bridges protruded out of her smile when viewed in profile 4) the porcelain on the bridges were too flat and "Chicklet like" 5) uneven gum line 6) Karen's smile didn't reveal her back teeth, mostly her front 6. What we planned for Karen's smile makeover consisted of laser gum line correction to create longer teeth and harmonious gum levels. We gently sculpted the site of the missing teeth so our replacements would give the illusion that they are her natural teeth, and appeared as if they grew out of the gum tissue. We placed four laminates behind the front 6 teeth to broaden her arch. The bridges were replaced with natural and realistic porcelain.
