When Denise came for a consult she had 3 concerns. Her main concern was her bite and how her front teeth seemed to jam into each other. This contributed to her 2nd concern of tense facial muscles. Thirdly, she was not satisfied with the appearance of her smile. Denise's case is a classic example of poor function affecting esthetics. Denise's bite caused the front teeth to flare forward, creating black holes between her front teeth and spacing. Additionally, her smoking habit had accelerated this unesthetic situation and it had also darkened them aggresively where bleaching would not have made an impact. Our plan for Denise involved 3 phases. 1st phase was to replace faulty caps in the back of her mouth. These caps were very large and had contributed to her bite problems and additionally were trapping plaque and bacteria. 2nd phase consisted of properly aligning her teeth with Invisalign. This fine tuned her bite and allowed her facial muscles to be less strained. Once these 2 concerns were addressed we were able to improve the esthetics of her smile with 10 porcelain veneers. "I wish I had done this sooner. I am so happy and I can't see myself going to any other office"-Denise.
